Intraoral microscope

Dentistry, like many other branches of medicine, is involved in a continuous progress of the diagnose techniques and of the operative procedures. Just think of the enormous development of implantology, which offers the patients new possibilities of prosthetic rehabilitation.

After all also the dentist working procedures are continuously improved.

The search for a higher and higher quality of the service as well as the need to improve prevention and oral pathology diagnose is encouraging dentists to use visual magnification devices during their everyday work.

At the moment the only device which allows to align the lighting and the magnifying systems is the stereomicroscope.

The intraoral microscope allows to take considerably magnified pictures of the part to be treated and therefore to treat this part very precisely and to achieve the best results. Some operating techniques would be unthinkable without the help of these vanguard techniques.

This device is more and more often used in dentistry and particularly in some of its branches (endodontics), where the best visual control of the work in progress is absolutely required.
The accuracy of the sight of the detail, which is achieved by means of these magnifications, allows to improve even the less imperfections.

The intraoral microscope allows the dentist to watch an operating area which is magnified up to 25 times, with an operating precision which was unthinkable in the past.

All the services which do not need the use of the microscope are anyway performed with the help of magnifying systems with ZEISS optics, which allow a 4,5x magnification in comparison with the real picture.

In our clinic the intraoral microscope has been used since 2009. This ensures extremely precise treatments and the best results.

TAC cone beam

Cone Beam is s very recent dental TAC system which has upset the world of the digital radiology and as well as the world of the dentistry.

In fact, it allows to make 3D reconstructions of bone and soft tissues and to considerably reduce the quantity in comparison with a traditional TAC (dentascan) with the same picture quality and precision (25x to 90x reduction in comparison with a traditional TAC). Moreover the
full-scale measurements are always uniform.

For children the quantity is even more reduced thanks to the specific paediatric exposure programme.

Thanks to the 3D acquisition, the information is more detailed in comparison with the information from an arch panoramic radiography.

This new diagnostic system allows to take real time 3D pictures, so the doctor can make an accurate and immediate diagnosis.

CAD CAM

Cad Cam dentistico

The Cad-Cam technology has been developed with a view to planning and manufacturing lasting quality dentures.

In fact, with Cad/Cam you can use codified, registered procedures, which can be controlled and above all repeated.

Cad/Cam systems applied to dentistry are nowadays the avant-garde as far as the dental technological devices are concerned.

The CAD-CAM technology is the result of an engineering work which allows digitally design objects (CAD: Computer-Aided Design), and to manufacture them with the computer help (CAM: (Computer-Aided Manufacturing).

These CAD/CAM dental systems ensure a high precision.

MATERIALISE

It is time to add the third dimension for dentistry …

materialise

Ready for 3D digital dentistry?
Just imagine a perfectly integrated device for implant programming, which is able to find out and shape with high precision the patient’s anatomic features. A device which offers an immediate 3D digital view, which patients can easily understand and whose highly reliable and precise date ensure the best control of all the implant inserting stages. When this technology is used in a dental clinic, it introduces a new interactive dentistry, which aims to unthinkable clinical quality levels. Thanks to this device the operation time is considerably reduced. Patients feel more secure when taking on the surgery operation, which is programmed and planned in advance.

Materialise Dental offers a completely integrate instrument for planning the implant treatment. The SimPlant® technology, together with the professional’s clinical experience, help plan the implants, thus making operations more precise.

SimPlant® means quick and easy planning for each case, from the rehabilitation of a single tooth to the rehabilitation of completely edentulous arches, both for apparently easy cases and for more difficult cases.

The SimPlant® software for planning the treatment offers the dentist a three-dimensional information on the mouth anatomy:

• Thickness and density of the bones
• Exact position of the roots of the surrounding teeth
• Exact location of the nerves

With this precise information, the dentist can begin to plan the ideal positioning of the implants, he can achieve the best results and he can even show the patient what the new teeth will look like before beginning the treatment!

Knowing each detail in advance

The implantologist can “virtually” prepare the treatment in detail, thus making it much safer and easy. With SimPlant® and SurgiGuide® implantology has become a more and more accurate and predictable technique. The free-hand implantology is now outdated.

DIODE LASER
The LASER technology used in our clinic allows to operate without anaesthesia because it is PAINLESS.

Laser a diodi

Thanks to the extreme precision of the LASER, which allows to do perfectly “clean” works, the trauma of the lesions is reduced to the minimum, thus making the healing process easier.

The diode laser works on the soft tissues and allows to treat pathologies such as:
– Dental bleaching
– Aphthae
– Angiomas
– Angular chelitis
– Coagulation – Exposed pulp
– Endodontium decontamination
– Dental surface decontamination
– Periodontal pockets decontamination
– Desensitization at cervixes
– Various surgical haemostasis

In 1960 T.H. Maiman built the first ruby laser.
Since then this technology has been developing quickly, so that today the available lasers are quite a lot and are used in many areas, from industry to army, to public works and dentistry. In everyday life lasers are used to read product bar codes in supermarkets, they are used in mp3 players, in printers, in show lightning, in discos, etc.
The laser has contributed a lot in dentistry, too, as far as both its applications on the mouth hard and soft tissues and oral beauty treatments as well as surgery are concerned.
A new generation laser used in odontostomatology is the diode laser, with 808-980 nm wavelengths. Its reliability, versatility and convenience features make it an useful and complete tool, so that in some dentistry areas it is proving to be a very valid alternative to traditional therapies.
Clinical studies about diode laser applications prove its validity in treating benign diseases and neoplasm of the oral mucous membrane, in treating periodontal diseases and in pre-prosthetic treatments of gingival crevices.
In aesthetical dentistry the diode laser is used for bleaching and revitalising.
Finally, the professional who uses the diode laser often does not have to administer anaesthetics, thus making the patient feel good in the post-operative period. The laser can be daily used for several operations together with the traditional therapies. The advantages, which such machines can give, are many. They contribute to better treat our patients, who can so heal more quickly and with less inconveniences and pains.

THE DIODE LASER IS USED IN:

Endodontics: the bactericidal effect of the laser is effective in the depth of the root canal and in the dentinal tubules, thus supporting the healing of periapical diseases in a short time, too. The laser energy applied to canal treatments offers several advantages such as the complete microorganism reduction and the smear layer elimination.

Periodontology: the laser is very effective for the bacteria elimination, reduces the pocket formation and completely restores the gingival tissue.
Surgery: the laser ensures a treatment with no bleeding. In some cases no anaesthesia nor suture stitches are needed. Thanks to the antiseptic and biostimulating action, the use of the laser reduces the healing times in comparison with the cold blade surgery. The post-operative period is less painful in comparison with the traditional methodologies.

Analgesic therapy: the laser finds an useful application in the biostimulation and in the analgesic therapy. It is a remedy for some painful pathologies such as those of the temporo-mandibular articulation. With the help of specific gels and special handpieces (large and small area) it removes stains and tooth yellowing.

Bleaching: the specific single and arch handpieces, together with whitening gels, ensure a very good aesthetical result on both vital and non-vital teeth.

Desensitization: it is effective to desensitize sensible teeth, and above all dental necks and stumps, before definitively fixing the denture.

– thanks to the antiseptic and biostimulating action, the post-operative healing times are considerably shorter. Moreover, thanks to its bactericidal power, it reduces the risk of infection and relapses, thus avoiding the swelling and inflammation, which usually appear after an operation.

APPLICATIONS ON CHILDREN

The laser is ideal for children. It does not make them anxious and it is easier to suggest it for all treatments.
Parents are extremely receptive and support the use of the laser for treating their children.
Wherever a lingual frenectomy or other similar applications are needed, the procedure followed with the laser allows the child to keep on doing his usual activities.
